The South Australian Museum is supported by a network of skilled, committed and enthusiastic people. Their work makes a significant contribution to the Museum by enhancing visitor experiences, sharing the stories of our cultural and natural heritage, and assisting us with caring for and conducting research on our collections.
Seeking Volunteers for the Digitisation Program
Two positions have been made available in the South Australian Museum’s Volunteer Digitisation Program. Volunteers in this program photograph and database museum specimens ready for publication online through the Atlas of Living Australia. Volunteers primarily photograph terrestrial invertebrates, but sometimes we photograph specimens from other collections across the Museum.
We’d like members of the team to have experience or an interest in science or digital photography, and very good attention to detail. Positions in this program are highly sought after, and your application will be highly considered if you can demonstrate attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
Volunteers must commit to a regular half or full day shift once a week, during regular business hours, for at least six months. Half or full day shifts are available on Mondays or Thursdays.
