Edmund Albert Colson

Edmund Colson was a pastoral worker in northern South Australia. He assisted AP Elkin during his anthropological survey of the north-west of South Australia in 1930 and also participated in a prospecting expedition into Central Australia led by Michael Terry in the same year. In 1936 Colson and an Antakirinya man, Eringa Peter, successfully crossed the Simpson Desert with camels. He later established the Colson Trading Company at Finke in the Northern Territory. The Colson collection in the South Australian Museum Archives comprises correspondence.
