John Michael Skipper was an intelligent, vivacious solicitor who is remembered predominantly as an artist who documented the character of early colonial South Australia.
The South Australian Museum Archives contains the oil painting Corroboree with related negatives, prints and transparencies and prints and negatives of the oil painting Skipper Family at Islington. The collection also contains a biography of Skipper by Herbert Hale, as well as transcribed segments from Mary Thomas’ Diary.
