Lessons with an Education Manager – bookings essential.
Classes are generally booked into a gallery for a one hour lesson. The Education Manager will work with your class for about 45 minutes. Students may spend the remainder of the hour exploring or recording their own observations in the gallery. If you wish to use the gallery to complete activity sheets after the lesson you should book extra time.
Introductions with an Education Volunteer – bookings essential.
Classes are generally booked into a gallery for an hour visit. An Education Volunteer will give students an introduction to the main features of the gallery for about 30 minutes. In negotiation with teachers on the day they may give extended sessions. Classes that have an Education Volunteer may wish to also use resources from our download pages for the balance of their visit time.
Visits without an Education Manager – bookings essential.
Classes are generally booked into a gallery for an hour visit. Always give your students time to explore the gallery themselves before asking them to complete other learning tasks. Teachers who are leading such visits may wish to drop into the museum after school to preview the gallery with an Education Manager and discuss additional teaching possibilities.
