The Australian Geographic ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year is the South Australian Museum’s annual photography competition and exhibition which celebrates the unique natural beauty of Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea through the eye of the nature photographer.

Congratulations to David Rennie from Western Australia who has won the overall prize and been named Australian Geographic ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year.

People’s Choice Winner

David Stowe’s photograph Little Egret (Egretta garzetta), little fish has been named the People’s Choice winner with thousands of visitors casting their votes. 

 

About the Competition

Through The Australian Geographic ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year the Museum focuses on enhancing a general knowledge of this extraordinary area by encouraging photography of its nature and wilderness to stimulate interest in its ongoing conservation.

Open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide, the competition received more than 1800 entries from 12 countries in 2013.

An exhibition of the finest photographs submitted to the competition will be exhibited at the South Australian Museum from 4 October until 25 November 2013, after which it tours to Western Australia and Tasmania.
