Museums are one of the most trusted of all community information resources because they are based on the real thing: the collections. They offer truly unique experiences of discovery and exploration that encourage a greater understanding of our world.
For more than 150 years the South Australian Museum has been committed to making Australia's natural and cultural heritage accessible, engaging and fun, and to being a place where families can learn and grow together.
The South Australian Museum Foundation was established in 2006 and exists to support the Museum in its endeavours to inspire current and future generations. In its short life the Foundation has been successful in raising vital funds to undertake special projects at the Museum – from the opening of the South Australian Biodiversity Gallery and the redevelopment of the Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery, to the expansion of the Information Centre and much more, including the acquisition and conservation of artefacts.
None of these initiatives would have been possible without the extraordinary support of an ever increasing number of individual donors, private foundations and corporate supporters.
Donations of $2 or more to the Foundation are fully tax deductible. Cumulative gifts of $1,000 or more will be acknowledged on the Museum's new Donor Wall in the main foyer. To learn more, please phone Ken Ross, Executive Officer of the Foundation on 08 8207 7395 or email email@example.com.
