Biography
Philippa completed her B.Sc. (Hons) in Zoology in 1977 and Ph.D. in Zoology in 1984, both at the University of Adelaide. In 1978-1979 she worked as a Research Assistant at the Herbarium of the Waite Agricultural Research Institute, conducting taxonomic revisions of Nicandra and the native tobacco species Nicotiana. In September 1984 Philippa joined the South Australian Museum as an assistant half-time in Ornithology and half-time in Arachnids & Helminths. In May 1985 she became a full-time assistant in Ornithology, and in 1991 became Senior Collection Manager in charge of Ornithology following the departure of the last Curator of Birds to another department. Since 1995 she has worked part-time.
