What support can teachers get at the Museum?
Education Managers have developed student programs that are aligned with the Australian Curriculum for each gallery. Education Managers and Museum Volunteers, when available, can take your class for a lesson in the gallery of your choice. These lessons are inquiry based and encourage student participation. Education Managers also provide Professional Development for groups of teachers.
Teachers can ring the Education Office to discuss customised programs for classes. If you have an idea to use the Museum in a novel way we may be able to negotiate a special program to meet your needs.
Downloadable programs are available for teachers to support students with self-guided tours around the Museum.
There are many ways to work with students in the galleries. See some of our ideas in Working with students in a gallery.
