NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Aboriginal communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
Join the fun at the South Australian Museum and participate in performances, children’s tours and art workshops and support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
All activities will be held in the Main Foyer and Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery.
The Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery is an object-rich experience that features over 3,000 items from communities across the country. The gallery explores this amazing culture with a wealth of boomerangs, bark paintings, shields, maps, early recordings, photographs, field notebooks, and the return of the Yuendumu School Doors. Newmont Asia Pacific is Principal Sponsor of the Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery.
