South Australian Museum.
Dr Andrew Thomas AO display
Adelaide-born Astronaut Dr Andrew Thomas was the first Australian citizen in space. He has loaned a number of items of personal memorabilia from his space flights and training, which will be displayed alongside a space suit and leisure suit on loan from NASA and worn by him on Mir.
Shared Sky display
Shared Sky is a collaborative exhibition bringing together Indigenous artists from Australia and South Africa to explore ancestral and modern understandings of the sky as it appears above their traditional homelands where the world’s largest radio telescope, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), will be located.
Space: Eyes on the Sky display
The Museum, alongside the European Space Agency and MOD. at the University of South Australia, showcases a display of images from the Hubble Space Telescope paired with artworks by a group of tertiary art students that are inspired by the images.
