We are conveniently located on North Terrace, in the heart of Adelaide’s cultural precinct, and easily accessible by bus, train, and tram.
If you are driving to the Museum, timed carparking is available on Kintore Avenue and Victoria Drive.
You can also park in the Wilson’s Carpark across the road; get your ticket stamped at the Information Desk to receive a discount.
There is one disabled parking space behind the Museum which is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. It is accessed by coming through the boom gate on Morgan Thomas Lane. You will need to show your Disability Parking Permit and display it at all times.
If you are cycling to the Museum, there are bike racks on either side of the building, in the laneway shared with the Art Gallery, and near the entrance to the State Library.
Entry is free. There may be a charge for some special exhibitions.
The Museum is open every day from 10am–5pm, including weekends and public holidays.
We open at 12 noon on ANZAC Day (25 April). We are closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
The Information Centre is open from 11am–4pm weekdays and 11am–3pm weekends and public holidays. It is closed from 25 December–1 January.
