Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world through stunning images by professional, emerging and junior photographers, who have shown impeccable patience, artistry and technique to capture incredible moments in time.

The Nature Photographer of the Year competition celebrates the natural heritage of the Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea bioregions each year. We want to celebrate with you, and share stories, and hear from you what you love about the Museum. We have created a very special after-hours dining experience in some of the Museum's most loved gallery spaces.

Hosted by Museum Director, Brian Oldman, and Professor Steve Donnellan, Head of Research and Collections, you will enjoy a selection of canapes and drinks, followed by an inspired dinner with rich conversation about the Museum, its history, and our exciting plans for the future.

Our Museum Catering team have carefully curated a very special menu for the evening. You can expect tea smoked chicken with quandong jam, sweet potato & caramelised eschalot gremolata, beef eye fillet, butternut pumpkin & rosemary ravioli, fig & pistachio friand. Accompanied by wonderful South Australian beverages from the Wrattonbully Wine Region.

Our exhibition dinners are supporting our Museum 165 Appeal, which is raising much needed funds to care, conserve and share our collections. The Museum is home to over 4 million incredible objects that we holds in trust. These stories are fundamental to understanding and documenting the history, cultures and natural history of South Australia from deepest time, and into the future.

Every ticket purchase helps directly supports the South Australian Museum.
