Thinking Out Loud: Effective Learning in the Museum
Available times: Monday – Friday 10:00am – 4:00pm
Duration: 1 Hour
Capacity: Minimum 10, Maximum 40 teachers per booking. Multiple bookings can be made to accommodate larger groups.
How can we cultivate curiosity, questioning and meaning making through a Museum visit? This session will look at practical strategies to promote critical thinking and active learning in the Museum and back in the classroom. This professional learning session can be booked on request and includes:
A tour of Museum spaces with a focus on how teachers can effectively self-guide students in the Museum through the lens of the Effective Learners area of impact in the South Australian curriculum.
Dedicated time for teachers to explore the hands-on resources that the Museum has to offer schools, with information about how to book and how they can be used to create enriching learning experiences.
Ask us about how we can tailor your session to year levels or learning areas.
Notes:
Bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance and are subject to availability.
Cultural tours of the Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery are not available as part of this program.
Tours of ticketed temporary exhibitions can be included on request. This will incur cost of entry for all attendees in addition to the standard booking fee for this session.
