Weddings

Your special day deserves a special venue. We can transform our spaces into something spectacular and unique, whether you want it indoors, outdoors, or both.

Indoors

Hold your ceremony on the grand staircase with light streaming in from the stained-glass window; enjoy a dinner setting in the Main Foyer overlooking North Terrace; or dine with the animals in the World Mammals Gallery.

Outdoors

The Armoury courtyard and lawns offer a rare private garden setting in the cultural hub of Adelaide. Have your ceremony in front of the beautiful heritage-listed Armoury building. Take photos against the sandstone façade, pitch a pavilion on the back lawns, light up the front lawns with chandeliers and whatever you do, don't forget to include our purpose-built dance floor.

COVID-19 restrictions

The Museum has the ability to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions in accordance with COVID-19 density requirements and current guidelines. The current Public Activity Requirements for South Australia holds that we can accommodate three people per four square metres across each venue space, with a maximum of 200 guests permitted at your wedding. The Event organiser is required to provide contact tracing details of guests attending, and guests are required to QR check in on arrival . The Museum will retain a record of this information and may be asked to produce these details at the request of an authorised officer in the future.

Testimonials

“The Armoury Lawns at the Museum was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The venue is picture-perfect, with the quiet feel of a rustic winery, situated in the heart of Adelaide. The location was convenient for guests who traveled from near and far for our special day.”
