Hold your ceremony on the grand staircase with light streaming in from the stained-glass window; enjoy a dinner setting in the Main Foyer overlooking North Terrace; or dine with the animals in the World Mammals Gallery.
The Armoury courtyard and lawns offer a rare private garden setting in the cultural hub of Adelaide. Have your ceremony in front of the beautiful heritage-listed Armoury building. Take photos against the sandstone façade, pitch a pavilion on the back lawns, light up the front lawns with chandeliers and whatever you do, don't forget to include our purpose-built dance floor.

“The Armoury Lawns at the Museum was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The venue is picture-perfect, with the quiet feel of a rustic winery, situated in the heart of Adelaide. The location was convenient for guests who traveled from near and far for our special day.”

“To the South Australian Museum family, please accept our sincere thanks for helping to make our wedding celebrations so spectacular. The setting was delightful. So many guests commented on the staircase being the perfect backdrop for the ceremony and the main foyer a unique and eye-catching venue for the reception. Our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for and so much more.”
