Minjambuta (VIC)

LocationUpper reaches of the Buffalo, King, Ovens, and Broken rivers east of Violet Town; south to the Dividing Range. Very little is known about them save Mathews's indication that their language was similar to that of the Duduroa. By their social organization they were indicated to be related to southern tribes. Initiation rites were described by Mathews (1904:336) but without specific association with the tribal name. Their boundaries are drawn principally by exclusion from surrounding known tribal areas.
