Margaret Hollister's mother, Edith Wyly, lived on Thursday Island for a year in the 1920's with her uncle, William McFarlane.
William McFarlane was a church advocate for the Torres Strait Islands for 17 years. MacFarlane's younger sister, Grace, doted on him and collected all the information she could on his activities, which included broadcasting and writing under an assumed name. Grace took her daughter, Edith Wyly to Thursday Island in the 1920's. It is not recorded however assumed that Grace took the photographs.
