Rev. Napoleon Henry Louwyck was born in Belgium. He was a missionary at Lahore and in the Punjab, India.
Louwyck came to Australia in 1916 and served in the Yorketwon and Yankalilla districts in South Australia from 1922 to 1937.
He was an authority on Eygptology and other aspects of anthropology.
He was a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia and a past president of the Anthropological Society of South Australia.
