Vernon Ragless Padman's parents were Samuel Waterhouse Padman and Annie Elizabeth Jane Ragless. Samuel and Annie came to Middleton [SA] in 1889 and took over the general store.Vernon's father was a local preacher and Sunday School Superintendant. Vernon was the eldest of 6 children.
