Fraser Smith Crawford was the founding manager of the Adelaide Photographic Company from 1864-1866. His appointment was to facilitate the reduction and reproduction of plans prepared by the Surveyor Generals Office.

The Company was located in the Neales Building on King William Street from 1864-1878, then moved to 101 Rundle Street, Adelaide, from 1895-1900.

It is unknown how the photograph of H.A. Price came into the Museum collection.
