From 1940 to 1953 Hilda Magdalene Fiezt (nee Wurst) was the sole teacher at Hermannsburg. She was able to teach up to 60 students from year levels 1-6 in both English and Arrernte. Her subjects included English, Mathematics and Bible Study.

In the year 1954 she came to marry Ernst Linke Fietz, and together they had children Anna Pauline Williams (nee Fietz), Markus Ernst Fietz, Christine Helen Schubert (nee Fietz), Sharon Ruth Fietz and Michael James Fietz.
