Ruth Pech was first hired as a governess for Pastor Albrecht's children in 1935 and in 1938 took charge of the school a teacher at Hermannsburguntil 1940. Most of the photographs have no accompanying descriptions. They include photographs of Aboriginal people at Hermannsburg and few from the Haast's Bluff region to the west; staff, their families and visitors at Hermannsburg.
