56 black and white photographs apparently used by NB Tindale (AA 338); 98 black and white photographs NB Tindale ex Beryl George. Many with annotations; and a mix of 203x253 mm and 125x110 mm b/w photographs including some post cards.

There is a significant level of duplication of material beween the 3 sets of photographs, The series includes a number of colour photographs taken during a visit by members of the Elcho Island community to Adelaide for Harold Shepherdson's funeral.

Some of these photographs have been inspected by members of the Elcho Island community in 2000 who indicated that some contain culturally sensitive material. All restricted photographs and negatives have been consolidated in AA 320/2/5.

A note included in volume AA 320/2/2 indicates that Shepherdson granted NB Tindale (AA 338) permission to use these photographs in his book.
