This series can be broken down into four major subseries.

The first group (AA 290/2/1) comprises photographs of Australian Aboriginal people at Swan Reach c1926-1933.

The second group (AA 290/2/2) comprises photographs of "Mickie" an Australian Aboriginal boy from Ooldea.

The third group (AA 290/2/3) comprises photographs of Australian Aboriginal people at Hindmarsh Valley.

The fourth group (AA 290/2/4) comprises restricted material from Central Australia.
