Dick Cubadgee (1870-1889) Aboriginal guide and cultural broker was born near Tennant Creek, South Australia (Northern Territory, second son of a ceremonial leader of the Warumungu people, known to Europeans as 'King Tapanunga'. Cubadgee succumbed to a secondary infection and died of 'tubercular meningitis' on 15 September 1889, aged 19. See full biographical details in Australian Dictionary of Biography.
