'Stone axe making - Grinding the stone'

Four men sitting on the ground either grinding or looking on, they are sat in front of a large pile of gum leaves in what appears to be a clearing. There are other material culture objects in the foreground of the picture frame.

No former AP number has been located.

On the reverse of the mount is another photograph 'Grass seed ceremony (Kaitish Tribe) Spencer Gillen Expedition'. The photograph is of five men standing over three ceremonially decorated men in a clearing.

The photograph is probably of the Aranda language group.
