Aranda man rubbing his hand over a pitchi to produce portulacca-down. There are four pitchi's in the photograph and a boomerang. The man is sitting in front of piles of gum leaves.

On the reverse of the mount is another photograph 'decorated for the sacred ceremony of the black snake "Thalaulla" - (Warramunga Tribe) Spencer Gillen Exped.'. This photograph depicts two Waramunga men from the waist up decorated for ceremony.
