Foot notes across two pages: 'The Gusap River, near its junction with the Ramu River. In this portion of its course the Ramu runs close to the foot of the Bismark Range. The Gusap rises in the Finisterre Mountains, on the northern side of the Ramu Valley and storms in the mountains cause rapid rises.'
