Extract from field notebook

This item is made up of 11 numbered pages taken from a notebook containing alternating lined and blank pages. The pages contain handwritten notes made by Johnson in relation to Australian Aboriginal habitation sites he visited between August 1962 and January 1963. The notes also contain detailed illustrations and statistical tables of stone artefacts found at each site. The notes are organised under separate headings, which are as follows:

  • Page 1 - 'Aboriginal site on Mern-merna Station, near Hawker, Flinders Ra., Discovered August 6th 1962'.

  • Page 4 - 'Bunyeroo Gorge, artifacts found Sept. 30 1962'.

  • Page 5 - 'Site at Aroona Spring, SW of Blinman, Flinders Range, found Dec. 17, 1962'.

  • Page 6 - 'Aboriginal campsite on Mathewsons Creek, Flinders Range... Found Jan 18th 1963'.
