All of these appear to be notes taken at lectures.

  1. First set: heading: 'Symbolism (R. Thurnwald)', topic seems to cover 11 pages.

  2. Second set: three pages under the heading Acculturation Processes. McConnel attended R Thurnwald's seminar on Problems of Acculturation during 1931-33 at Yale (see 1939 job application AA191/04/14).

  3. Third set: heading: '[deleted: Primitive] Law. R. Thurnwald'.

  4. Fourth set: heading: 'Law and social Structure. R. Thurnwald'.



22 leaves in all, consisting of: two sets of small handwritten notes pinned together, comprising 15 very small leaves (14 pages). These were in turn pinned originally to two larger sets of handwritten notes comprising 2 leaves (4 numbered pages), followed by three leaves (5 numbered pages).
