Mrs Ernest Scott would have been Emily née Fortuna aka Dyason, a Bendigo singer who married Professor Ernest Scott of University of Melbourne (History) fame, the latter being a liberal on women's voting in the 1890s and an anti-fascist in the 1930s. The 'Changte' would have been VSIS Changte (1925-1961) Naval No. Y1-9, built by Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock Co. Ltd of Hong Kong for the Australian-Oriental Line for service in Australian and Chinese waters.
