Graeme Pretty writes on page four "Introduction. This notebook has been begun in order to give separate attention to (1) the field reconnaissance of sites in the region surrounding the Roonka project locality, and (2) study trips to sites elsewhere which are considered relevant to the project".
Starting on page 6 are details of visits to various sites of interest.
Pages 6 - 19: Inspection of the Latrobe University excavation at Keilor, Victoria. This visit is dated 12/12/1979.
This is an aboriginal burial site near the junction of the Maribyrnong River and Green Gully.
There is a narrative of the visit accompanied by copies of three maps showing the location of the burial site and geological details.
Pages 21 - 35: Field inspection of archaeological sites discovered in the upper Murray region by N.B. Tindale 1925 - 1965.
This visit is dated 19-20/12/1979.
Graeme Pretty and Norman Tindale were accompanied by John Prescott, Jon Finnan and Bonney [?] Smith.
Various sites were visited: Tantomga [? - unreadable - could be Tantamga] (near Nildottie), Swan Reach, Paringa and the Chowilla Dam site.
A map of the Paringa area is included.
The two pages at the back of the notebook, dated 10/6/1982, describe an excursion to the Truro - Springton area "to inspect sites recently discovered by Tom Gara [?]".
Started at Truro and then moved on to the Springton area. Not much detail and difficult to read.
