Box 1
This box contains 32 glass negatives from the Board for Anthropological Research's 1929 expedition to Hermannsburg (NT). Some of these photos were taken by Pulleine; others are copies of photographs taken by other members of the expedition. The negatives include views of Marree (SA), the township of Alice Springs and nearby sites such as Emily Gap and Palm Valley, photos of some of the children at the Jay Creek Home and views of Kaperilya Springs. Also included are some views of Hermannsburg Mission and some of the Aboriginal people there, six 'mug shots' of Aboriginal individuals and four restricted photos of ceremonial activities.

Box 1 also contains 64 glass negatives, evidently copies of photographs taken by Spencer and Gillen in Alice Springs (NT) in the late 1890s. The negatives include photographs of Gillen and his children in Alice Springs as well as photos of 'Arunta' Aboriginal people in and around Alice Springs. There are also some photographs of Aboriginal camp scenes and Aboriginal men preparing implements, and 39 restricted photographs of Aboriginal people decorating themselves for ceremonies and performing ceremonies.

Box 2 contains 43 glass negatives taken during the Board for Anthropological Research's 1930 expedition to Macdonald Downs (NT). Some of these photographs were taken by Pulleine; others are copies of photographs taken by other members of the expedition. These include photographs of BAR members recording data from Aboriginal people, general camp scenes, Aboriginal men making artefacts, Aboriginal women preparing plant foods and three restricted photographs of ceremonial activities.

Box 2 also contains 32 glass negatives taken during the Board for Anthropological Research's 1932 expedition to Mt Liebig (NT). Some of these photographs were taken by Pulleine; others are copies of photographs taken by other members of the expedition. These include views of Haasts Bluff and Pinta Springs, Aboriginal camp scenes at Mt Liebig, preparation of wooden artefacts, and some portraits of individuals and groups belonging to the Pintubi and 'Ngalia' tribes. There is one restricted photograph of ceremonial activities.

Box 2 also contains 14 glass negatives taken during the Board for Anthropological Research's 1934 expedition to the Diamantina River (SA). Some of these photographs were taken by Pulleine; others are copies of photographs taken by other members of the expedition. They include photographs of Aboriginal camp scenes at Pandie Station, food preparation and manufacture of wooden artefacts.

Box 3 contains 93 glass negatives taken during the Board for Anthropological Research's 1931 expedition to Cockatoo Creek (NT). Some of these photographs were taken by Pulleine; others are copies of photographs taken by other members of the expedition. They include views of Alice Springs, Connors Well and Mt Thomas as well as numerous photos of the Aboriginal people camping at Cockatoo Creek. These include photographs of the manufacture of wooden artefacts, cooking game animals, preparing plant foods and general camp scenes, including Ilparra and Anmatjera people. The negatives include 11 restricted photographs of ceremonial activities.
