This item contains a carbon copy memorandum dated 20 August 1970 from the then Curator of Archaeology, Graeme Lloyd Pretty (AA 255), to the Director, Grant Inglis, recommending that the South Australian Museum purchase a set of 34 illustrations by Henry Hillier from Oscar Reuther, Johann's son. The set includes the original toa watercolours which Rosa Fiveash (SAMA 970) copied for the Sir Edward Charles Stirling (see AA 309) and Edgar Ravenswood Waite (see AA 356) publication titled 'Description of Toas or Australian Aboriginal Direction Signs' published in Records of the South Australian Museum, Vol. 1, No. 2, 30 August 1919 (see AA 266/2/1/24).
