Proofs numbered 1-10 were taken at a half-way house in North Adelaide (SA). The house was established for Aboriginal people from the north when they required pre-operative treatment before admission to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and/or respite after being discharged. Faith Coulthard was a nurse during this time.

Proofs numbered 11-21 were taken at the Adelaide of the Department of Aboriginal Affairs, South Australia. In three images a welfare worker is meeting a women who is adopting two Aboriginal children; two images are or adopted Aboriginal children; three images are of welfare staff including an Aboriginal woman and three images are of 2 people with Aboriginal artefacts.

Item 22 is a photograph of a Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Adelaide, typist c1962-1963.
