This item includes three volumes of newspaper clippings, and some loose clippings:

  1. newspaper and magazine clippings (pasted into 1935 diary, labelled on spine 'Anthropology') relating mainly to Australian Aboriginal people (1938-1971), previously accessioned as AA 31 F2.

  2. newspaper and magazine clippings (pasted into 1938 diary, labelled on spine 'Cuttings') relating mainly to South Australian and Australian exploration (c. 1935-1970).

  3. newspaper and magazine clippings (pasted into 1940 diary, labelled on spine 'Railway maps') relating to overseas railways (1942-1953).

  4. Loose newspaper clippings on Aboriginal anthropology and archaeology, foreign ethnography, Australian history and politics. The newspaper cuttings include detailed accounts by EB Dow of Aboriginal rock art and stone arrangements in the Broken Hill district published in The Barrier Miner on 10 December 1938 and an article by Robert Edwards (see AA 83) on canoe trees, published in The Chronicle on 17 February 1966.
