Series AA 31/08 includes the following personal correspondence of EC Black, as well as material relating to his medical career:

  1. Folder of professional references, appointments and other correspondence, Australia and UK. 1903-14.

  2. Two notebooks relating to Black's medical work at Kalyra Hospital, Adelaide. One is labelled 'Chest work at Kalyra 1909-1910', the other is labelled 'Kalyra' on the spine.

  3. Diary of Black's voyage from Adelaide to London aboard SS 'Orestes'. March-April 1913.

  4. Examination papers, Royal College of Surgeons of England. 1914.

  5. Folder of personal and business correspondence. 1928-56.

  6. Folder of medical correspondence and notes. 1938-61.

  7. Notes, correspondence and other material relating mainly to Black's employment as medical officer with the South Australian Railways. Includes medical notes on Harry Peel, an Australain Aboriginal man from Thevenard on the SA west coast.

  8. Civilian Relief lecture notes relating to war-time rationing, civilian defence, welfare in South Australia. 1942.

  9. Script for a play, 'Gammer Gurton's Needle'.

  10. Series of programmes of performances of the Adelaide Repertory Theatre. 1931-1946.

  11. Framed medical certificates.

  12. Mounted photo of Adelaide University Rifle Club that includes members EC Black and Cecil Thomas Madigan (AA 202). 1910.

  13. Mounted photos of university graduates, presumably Black's fellow students.
