This item consists of 2 copies of a catalogue of the magnetic tape preservation reels of the South Australian Museum speech and sound collection. The wax cylinder, acetate disc and magnetic tape recordings held at the South Australian Museum (SAM) were transferred to preservation reels in 1980 by Chris Long. Copies of the preservation reels were sent to the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) in Canberra. In 1986 the preservation reels were auditioned by Grace Koch, whose running sheets constitute the catalogue.
