['Originated and equipped by Sir Thomas Elder G.C.M.G., F.R.G.S. Under the auspices of the South Australian and Victorian branches of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia commanded by David Lindsay F.R.G.S., Memb S.A.I.Surv. 1891-2'].

Annotated printed map compiled and drawn by David Lindsay and LA Wells during the 1891-1892 Elder Scientific Exploration Expedition. Includes area of hills between Blythe Range and Everard Ranges, and desert southwest of Barrow Range. Map shows expedition route, water holes, vegetation and geographical features. Tindale's notes in pencil show additional sources of water and location of dunes. Scale 2 1/2 inches = 40 miles.

[This published map was previously Accession No. 386, AA85 Elder Scientific Expedition. It contains annotations by Tindale. Provenance is uncertain. Two other copies of same map, one donated by Edgar Waite, have been retained in AA85.]
