'Australia S.E. [Southeast] Sheet, Tribal Boundaries Map' ['Birdsell Map']

An archivist's note on the back indicates map was used by or obtained from Joseph Benjamin Birdsell (see AA 689). Tindale sketched in pencil the distribution of coastal dunes and vegetation inland from the Coorong region in South Australia. The sketch marks extend east to near Mildura, Victoria and south to include the Big Desert in western Victoria (see also map 338/19/12). This sheet is a published base map which does not contain Tindale's 'tribal' names text and boundaries.

This item contains references to: New South Wales; Queensland; South Australia; Tasmania; Victoria.
