Ngadlu tampinthi ngadlu Kaurna Miyurna yartangka. Munaintya puru purruna ngadlu-itya. Munaintyanangku yalaka tarrkarriana tuntarri.
We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.
The cards compiled in this box relate to Tindale's concern with using vocabulary to map distributional patterns of cultural and natural phenomena across Australia. Header cards include: Corobori; 'Dream' Time; Generat. Level; Initiation; Circumcision; Language; Marriage; Medical & Disease; Smallpox; Men, Clever, Doctors; Name; Sacred Places; Totem; Sanctions; Scarification; Songs; Trees sacred, upside down, talking; Transformation; Trespass. Cards are mostly drawn from literature sources but some are from Tindale's manuscript materials.
Note that many of the header cards relate to 'subjects' rather than to a single English gloss. 'Initiation', for instance, is a broad heading within which cards may refer to the ceremony itself or an aspect of it, such as a participant or place of initiation. On the other hand, nearly all of the cards listed under 'circumcision' are glossed as 'man'.
