Reads "Erected by the Royal Geographical Society of Australia (SA Branch) and friends. In admiration of his pluck, endurance, and loyalty to John McDouall Stuart. As second in command from 1850 to 1863, when the British flag was placed in the centre of Australia the 22nd of April 1860 and on the shores of the Indian Ocean 25th July 1862".

  5. A memorial stone for James Bradbury Parr. Reads "One of the six hundred To the memory of James Bradbury Parr. Sergeant Major of the 11th Hussars a balaclava veteran who died at Wilcannia and was buried with Military Honours on the 1st Anniversary of ANZAC Day, 28th April 1916 aged 90 years. Erected by the Darling Empire League as a tribute to those heroes of a past generation whose deathless deed has been so gloriously emulated to-day. Theirs' not to reason why, theirs' but to do or die. Noble six hundred".
