  2. car, head on traversing rocky road. Annotated "G 4. On Anna Creek about 590 miles N of Adelaide. You can please yourself whether you get stuck in the sandy bed of the creek or lump over the boulders along its edge - there is no other alternative"

  3. WD Walker and Mollie, in the light of the camp fire. Annotated "G 6. In fine weather even in winter we always camped in the open. We found it much warmer to sleep on the ground and with a huge log blazing all night we never felt the cold"
