Portrait of Comee Nulunga

Coomee (English name Maria) is pictured sitting on a wooden bench, within a wooden structure. As per the National Museum of Australia, Coomee was believed to be the last of the Murramarang people, and lived in Ulladulla Harbour on the south coast of NSW. She died aged 90 years in 1915. Back of the photo reads 'with love and best wishes from Od Maria Billyboy. Milton 7/8/1910'. A glass plate of this photo is held in the Samuel Cocks Collection at the Wollongong University Archives in NSW.
