Group photograph captioned: "N2928a. Surrender ceremony inside the throne room of Government House building, Koijo, Korea. This ceremony marked the end of 40 years Jap[anese] domination of the country. Koreans were obviously delighted by their liberation. At the ceremony the Jap[anese] were seated opposite General Hodge and Admiral Kinkaid and their staff officers. Shown in photo are Allied representatives at the ceremony."
