Aerial reconnaissance photograph captioned: "C.3438. Damage to Krupps works, Essen. Photographs taken after the heavy attack on Essen by RAF Bomber Comand on the night of March 5/6 1943, show that extensive damage was caused to the great Krupps armament works, and to commercial buildings and worker's dwellings in the immediate neighbourhood of the works. Picture shows: A heavily damaged section of the Krupps works, Essen. Annotation 1. assembly shop, 2,3,4&5 machine shops, 6. administrative offices, 7. Elektrizitats work (foundary), 8. furnaces. Note: See picture No 3489 for same area before the attack."
