Fallen "Tiger of Malaya": arrogant General Tomayuki Yamashita, erstwhile "Tiger of Malaya" and commander of all Japanese forces in the Philippines, calmly puffing an American cigar as he surrendered to the 128th Regiment of 32nd Division at Kiangan, Nueva Viscayan province on Luzon, P1 defiant to the end, Yamashita had refused to capitulate until the formal surrender in Tokyo.
