Album 4 also contains 82 nitrate negatives (6x9 cm) taken during the BAR expedition to Hermannsburg Mission (NT) in 1929. The latter include landscape scenes at Marree, William Creek and Alice Springs and landscape scenes in the MacDonnell Ranges (including Glen Helen, Koperilya Springs, Jay Creek and Palm Valley), as well as domestic and camp scenes at Hermannsburg. There are also numerous negatives of ceremonial activities at Hermannsburg. This album includes a number of restricted images.

This album contains ten nitrate negatives (11x8 cm) labelled 'J-A 33', numbers 103-5, 107, 109, 116-8, evidently taken in the Mann Range by NB Tindale or C Hackett during the Board for Anthropological Research expedition to Ernabella in 1933. The photographs depict Aboriginal men preparing stone artefacts, and decorating each other for ceremonial purposes. The album also contains 24 nitrate negatives (12x10 cm) taken during the BAR expedition to Warburton Range (WA) in 1935. These include landscape scenes at Minnie Creek and Aboriginal ceremonial activities.
