Photograph of Pinnano Bathae (Bessy Clark)

Annotations on the reverse side of the photograph describes Pinnano Bathae described as being from 'Kangaroo-head', 'of the Macquarie Harbour tribe' and 'aged about thirty five - six years'. She was renamed 'Bessy Clark' after the wife of the catechist on Flinders Island. This is a copy of a photograph taken in 1866 by Mr CA Woolley of Hobart.
