Unique among Australian townships and said to be the only township (probably in the world) without a building above ground. Sometimes called Stuart's Range Opal fields. All live in dug outs on the hillside. Has mail, store, post office etc. Comprised about 250 people in 1930. Situated about 180 miles north of Kingoonya.'
