Ngadlu tampinthi ngadlu Kaurna Miyurna yartangka. Munaintya puru purruna ngadlu-itya. Munaintyanangku yalaka tarrkarriana tuntarri.

We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

Cultural Sensitivity Warning
It is a condition of use of the cultural components of the Museum Archives that users ensure that any disclosure of information contained in this collection is consistent with the views and sensitivities of Indigenous people. Users are warned that there may be words and descriptions that may be culturally sensitive and which might not normally be used in certain public or community contexts. Users should also be aware that some records document research into people and cultures using a scientific research model dating from the first half of the twentieth century, and depicts people as research subjects in ways which may today be considered offensive. Some records contain terms and annotations that reflect the author's attitude or that of the period in which the item was written, and may be considered inappropriate today in some circumstances. Users should be aware that in some Indigenous communities, hearing names of deceased persons might cause sadness or distress, particularly to the relatives of these people. Furthermore, certain totemic symbols may also have prohibitions relating to the age, initiation and ceremonial status or clan of the person who may see them. Records included may be subject to access conditions imposed by Indigenous communities and/or depositors. Users are advised that access to some materials may be subject to these terms and conditions that the Museum is required to maintain.

From Minna Albrecht to the sisters (Frau Graetz)

Apologises for having to write in German. As she has recently accompanied Albrecht on his missionary circuit, will write about that. Visited Mary Vale with evangelist Peter (Australian Aboriginal man), and driver Eli (Australian Aboriginal man). They take things to sell such as dress materials, and clothes, medicines, etc. The liturgy is in Aranda and use flannelgraph pictures. Evangelist Paulus (Australian Aboriginal man) works at Mary Vale. Asks for help to further the evangelical work. Next visited Deep Well station where there is no church structure. All the men were away working. 2 weeks ago they visited Henbury where they were under the gum trees in the creek and held a service on verandah of a house, but many of the children had the flu and couldn't come. After the service they sold goods. Gamaliel (Australian Aboriginal man) is the evangelist helped by Daniel Forrester (Australian Aboriginal man). Then on to Palmer Valley station where there is as yet no evangelist. Next Erldunda where there is a tiny church and a room to sleep in. Hold service and then sell goods - you will wonder about selling on Sunday, but people on cattle stations have few opportunities to buy goods. They went on to Ebenezer but there were no Aboriginal people there, so went on to Angas Downs but most people had left for Ernabella where a large corroboree was being held. And then finally back to Alice Springs. A third circuit took them north taking another week. This circuit has only been going a year. Aileron was the first stop where evangelist Peter (Australian Aboriginal man) lives. In Alice Springs he earned 10-12 pounds but here he just earns his keep. Their son Paul (Australian Aboriginal man) accompanied them, (he is missionary at Haasts Bluff) to learn the field and see how his father works. Distributed some dried fruit and bought dingo skins from the locals. Went on to Coniston. The evangelist Timothy (Australian Aboriginal man), comes from here and has evangelised but is currently stationed at Erldunda. Then to Pine Hill Station briefly and on to TiTree Station where Mr and Mrs Heffernan live. The wife comes from a good Lutheran family. Did not sell goods here as there is a store. Next to Murray Downs where the Browns insisted they sleep in the house and eat with them. Went on to Elkedra station where we had a cup of tea. There is a school for Aboriginal children and then to the Aborignal camp. Next Ammaroo and then Utopia where the Aboriginal camp is about 3/4 mile away and people still live a traditional life. There is no evangelist there. At each stop Albrect took services, showed religious pictures and sold goods. It is arranged that Albrecht is one Sunday in Alice Springs and alternate Sundays away, so takes six weeks to visit all stations. Aboriginal people service at Jay Creek and The Bungalow in Alice Springs. Mrs Latz teaches religious instruction there when Albrecht is away.
